the cottage

The cottage

The cottage accommodates 2 people in a king-sized bed (or twin beds on request). It has a separate large living and dining area, kitchen and a luxury bathroom.

Soak in the freestanding bathtub, the perfect spot to unwind while you take in the views through the large picture window. Wrap yourself in the waffle bathrobes, before curling up in front of the wood fire in the living area, equipped with TV, DVD player, and a selection of DVDs, games and books.

If you want to eat in, the well-equipped kitchen has a coffee machine, induction cooktop, convection microwave, dishwasher and sharp knives. In addition, a gas Weber BBQ means you can cook up anything from breakfast to a substantial meal. Local and homemade produce feature in the breakfast provisions and special treats included in your tariff.

Please note that the property is non-smoking. It is not suitable for children or pets.

The property

The cottage is separate to the main house on our 5-acre property, situated in an elevated position with sweeping views over the Shoalhaven River plain to the ocean.

A feature of the property is the stunning established garden containing a wide variety of exotic and native plants, as well as a large water-lily covered dam, and ornamental pond.

Wander among the gardens as you look out for the abundant birdlife. You might even be lucky to catch a glimpse of the resident wildlife such as swamp wallabies, echidnas or wombats.

Sustainability

The cottage is located in a special environmental zone in the Shoalhaven’s unique environment.

Keeping our environment green

Without compromising your comfort and enjoyment we try to minimise our impact on the ecology and resources of the area through:

  • Recycling
  • Composting food waste
  • Supplying eco-conscious and biodegradable toiletries
  • Minimising our use of plastics and plastic bags
  • Supplying re-useable shopping bags
  • Solar hot water & solar panels
  • TerraCyclic biodegradable sanitary system
  • Reducing use of chemicals in washing and cleaning.

If you would like to help our efforts, there are some simple things you can do during your stay, such as not leaving lights on when you’re out, using your towels for two days instead of one, and refilling your water bottle with our filtered natural, tap water.

If we all think and act sustainably even the smallest actions will add up to make an enormous difference.
